Abstract: The Arab world faces recurring challenges stemming from low economic growth and social unrest, exacerbated by the pandemic. These challenges, ranging from economic stagnation to social unrest, are intensified by a decline in statistical capacities across many Arab countries. Without transparent data, accurate measurement of economic performance and social vulnerabilities is impossible, leading to misguided policies and public discontent. Addressing the crisis requires capacity-building, robust data-sharing agreements, and leveraging digital skills for innovation.
