The EU must shift towards comprehensive solutions, including investing in development, expanding legal pathways for migration, improving reception and integration, providing humanitarian assistance, and reforming asylum policies. Sustainable search-and-rescue operations and burden-sharing among member states are essential for addressing the crisis effectively.
