Abstract: Libya's pursuit of a stable post-conflict state through elections faces many challenges, particularly as there is influence of various actors seeking to maintain power and control over resources. The flawed electoral process is manipulated by political elites, signifying a lack of safeguards for transparency and integrity. Despite calls for postponement and attempts to set new deadlines, there is a need for constructive engagement and institutional capacity-building before holding elections. Ultimately, rushing elections without addressing fundamental issues will only perpetuate the status quo and potentially lead to the election of another dictator.
